Please come share in an evening of music and stories at the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society Song & Story Swap.

Shingle the Roof will join the June 5 Song & Sroty Swap in AmherstGuest artists at the June 5 Song & Story Swap will be the string band, Shingle the Roof

Specializing in American fiddle tunes and traditional songs with haunting vocal harmonies, Shingle the Roof consists of Tim Woodbridge on fiddle and mandolin, Jerry Devokatis on guitar and Kate Spencer on banjo.  The trio delights audiences with lively tunes, funny songs, gruesome murder ballads, and historical or imagined tales of life and love. Equally at home playing a concert, contra dance, picnic, house party, or wedding, Shingle the Roof plays and performs regularly in the New England area.

Banjo-player Kate Spencer is familiar to many Western New England musicians as an instrument-maker and founder of Maple Leaf Music in Brattleboro, VT.
