Valley musicians will come together for Acoustic Beatles Night on May 6

Please come share in an evening of Beatles music and stories at the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society Song & Story Swap.

Saturday, May 6, 7:00 p.m. at the The Nacul Center, 592 Main St., Amherst, Mass (see map).

The May 6 event will be a special Acoustic Beatles Night, featuring the sharing of Beatles-related stories and an all-Beatles concert and singalong.

Various Valley artists will come together for May 6 Acoustic Beatles night in AmherstThe evening will begin with an open round of sharing of Beatle stories and recollections. This will be followed by a Beatles songfest and singalong, featuring musicians from around the Valley. Eric Lee, Elizabeth Farnsworth, Pete Nelson, Jim Armenti, Dennis Caraher, and Dinah Kudatsky are among the artists who will perform.

Musicians interested in sharing a song by the Beatles or a former Beatle are encouraged to come and be part of the show. Instruments should be of the acoustic variety (guitars, ukes, hand drums, accordions, sitars, etc.).  Electronic keyboards and direct lines are OK. Microphones for instruments and vocals will be available.

The Acoustic Beatles event is open to members of the public of all ages.  Admission is free, with a suggested minimum donation of $5-10, which this month benefits the Pioneer
Valley Folklore Society.

The Song & Story Swap is held on the first Saturday of each month, excepting July and August, and is jointly sponsored by the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society and the Nacul Center (http://www.nacul.com).  Visit the Folklore Society website at http://www.filbert.com/pvfs.

The Song & Story Swap is open to the public, free of charge with donations accepted ($5 - $10 is suggested).  People of all ages gather to share stories and songs that are traditional, newly written, or of personal experiences. You can tell, sing, or lead everyone in singing, or request a song or story.  Listeners are welcome.

Charlie King to celebrate CD release on May 20

On Saturday, May 20, musical storyteller and political satirist Charlie King will celbrate the release of his latest CD, "Life & Love, Tears & Laughter."

Joining Charlie will be special guests Annie Patterson & Peter Blood. The event will take place at the Mount Toby Friends Meetinghouse, 194 Long Plan Rd. in Leverett, MA. It begins at 7:30 p.m.
